Funding via the International Office of the HFR

You can apply for the following scholarships via the HFR International Office:

• Erasmus+ (studies and internships in another European country)
• PROMOS (studies, internships and theses in non-European countries)
• Baden-Württemberg Scholarship (study abroad)

Funding on your own initiative

BAföG abroad
International BAföG: An application can also be worthwhile for students who are not entitled to domestic BAföG. Further information can be found at

Please note that applications for BAföG abroad should be submitted at least six months before the start of your stay abroad.

HAW International
Module C is intended to support the mobility of particularly qualified students and academics, regardless of the existing framework conditions at the respective university.

Various programme components (study and internship stays, stays abroad as part of final theses, support for participation in conferences and trade fairs) create a comprehensive, new and visible offer for the target group of high-achieving HAW students, which can be used to specifically promote the various forms of international mobility in the context of practice-oriented studies at universities of applied sciences. A further advantage of the scholarship programme is the extensive regional and temporal flexibility, as well as adequate funding. In particular, the programme is intended to enable students from departments and universities that are currently under-represented among those receiving funding to take part in international mobility (https://www.daad.de/de/infos-services-fuer-hochschulen/weiterfuehrende-infos-zu-daad-foerderprogrammen/haw-international/).
