Forstliche Forschung und Lehre weltweit: Rückblick auf den 1. IUFRO World Day am 28. September 2021

IUFRO, der globale Zusammenschluss forstlicher Forschungseinrichtungen, führte am 28. und 29. September 2021 den ersten weltweiten World Day durch. Ausbildungs- und Forschungsstätten rund um den Globus, die sich mit Waldthemen befassen, öffneten virtuell ihre Türen und stellten ihre Arbeitsschwerpunkte und Forschungsergebnisse vor.
Viele an der Hochschule für Forstwirtschaft (HFR) Tätige sind in diesem weltweiten Waldnetzwerk aktiv. Professoren, Studierende und Mitarbeiter stellten die HFR beim World Day mit einem englischsprachigen Film und einem live übertragenen Forum vor. Rektor Professor Dr. Bastian Kaiser konnte 25 Gäste aus vier Kontinenten begrüßen. Im von Professor Dr. Stefan Pelz moderierten Forum gab es einen guten Austausch mit den Gästen z.B. über die anwendungsorientierte Forschung der Hochschule, ihr praxisnahes Ausbildungsangebot oder Projekte, die zusammen mit anderen Universitäten und Ländern durchgeführt werden.

Forestry Research and education worldwide: looking back on IUFRO’s 1st World Day on September 28, 2021.
IUFRO, the global organization of forestry research institutions, held its first global World Day on September 28th, 2021. Educational and research institutions around the globe that deal with forest issues opened their doors online and presented their work priorities and research results.
Many researchers working at the University of Applied Forest Sciences Rottenburg (HFR) are active in this worldwide forest network. Professors, students and staff presented HFR at the World Day with an English-language film and a live-streamed forum. Rector Professor Dr. Bastian Kaiser welcomed 25 guests from four continents. In the forum moderated by Professor Dr. Stefan Pelz, there was a good exchange with the guests e.g. about the application-oriented research of the university, its practice-oriented training or projects that are carried out together with other universities and countries.
